The Sacred Site focal point of the America Trenton Proactive Omniangels is the Lower Free Bridge, which is a two-lane through truss bridge over the Delaware River between Trenton New Jersey and Morrisville Pennsylvania, U.S.A. The Lower Free Bridge is also known as the Warren Free Bridge and the Trenton Makes Bridge. In 1935 the catchphrase "Trenton Makes The World Takes" was affixed in large letters to the south side of the bridge. Besides being a key signpost in the city of Trenton, the Lower Free Bridge also serves as a boundary between the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area on the Pennsylvania side of the bridge and the New York Metropolitan Area on the New Jersey side of the bridge. The bridge was first opened on January 30, 1806 as the first bridge across the Delaware River. At the time it was a toll bridge. Now it is the last free downstream bridge for vehicles to cross the Delaware River. The first settlement in the area that would later become Trenton was established by the Quakers in 1679. Quakers at that time were being persecuted in England so they relocated to North America in the pursuit of religious freedom. The settlement was became "Trent-towne" on June 3, 1719. Named after one of its leading citizens the name was subsequently abbreviated to Trenton. After crossing the icy Delaware River, General George Washington had his first America Revolutionary War victory at the city of Trenton on December 26, 1776. Trenton became the capital of the State of New Jersey on November 25, 1790; the City of Trenton in Trenton Township on November 13, 1792.
