There is an enchanting seven acre Japanese Garden of stone, earth, leaf, and water with serpentine paths, and a Koi pond. Highlights of the Perennial Garden include a culinary herb collection, a fern lined brook, and a waterfall surrounded by colorful flowers. At the Fragrance Garden there are aromatic plants and ivy covered fences; as well as, a charming fountain. Two thousand roses grace the Rose Garden with their vibrant celebratory splendor. The Lower Rose Garden is bejeweled with the inspiration of classic European loveliness and Italian Villa sumptuousness; while, the historic Val Rose Garden with its attractive gazebo presents outstanding varieties of Texas-acclimated roses. Within the verdant Conservatory there are tropical plants like bromeliads and orchids; as well as, exotic trees from around the planet. There is also a Water Conservation Garden where native low water usage plants like Agave, Esparanza, Mexican Bush Sage, Red Yucca, Salvia Greggii, and Texas Sage, thrive from April through October.
